DDoS protection for game hosting providers

A server that answers a ping can still fail during player connection, resource loading or normal gameplay. Work from the game’s real public endpoint and origin path, then test the actions your players actually perform.

Separate player symptoms before choosing a filter

Joining is more than reachability
Connection establishment, server information and resource retrieval can fail at different stages. Preserve the exact error and timing instead of treating every timeout as proof of a volumetric attack.
The game and origin paths differ
FiveM uses a mix of traffic and connection stages; Minecraft Java has a different protocol path. The public endpoint, origin address, ports and host restrictions must be reviewed for the selected delivery.
One host can serve many player communities
Several servers can share physical networking, CPU or a hosting provider’s protection policy. Confirm the failing layer and the unaffected workloads before applying a broad limit to the shared path.

Choose network delivery or a reviewed game service

Peeryx publishes FiveM and Minecraft Java delivery options. A hosting operator may instead need protected transit for an authorized network scope. These are separate offers; a network option is not automatically a proxy for every game.

  1. Describe the public service

Identify the game, hosting provider, public IP or endpoint, ports and the player actions that fail.

  2. Review the origin connection

Confirm reachable origin services, allowed protocols and the compatibility conditions of the proposed delivery.

  3. Test normal players first

Check joining, resource loading where applicable, ongoing play and recovery after the agreed route change.

Questions to settle with the hosting team

Is the incident a network flood or an application problem?
Correlate interface counters, connection errors and server resource use over the same interval. A client error alone cannot identify the attack type or prove that filtering caused it.
What changes at the public endpoint and origin?
Review the actual delivery before changing addresses, firewall rules or advertised connection details. Do not remove the existing path until the agreed acceptance checks succeed.
Do you need a per-game service or network-wide protection?
Match the scope to the addresses and routing you control. FiveM and Minecraft Java have their own service terms; a transit gaming option and a dedicated game-delivery offer are not the same purchase.

Use player actions as the acceptance test

  • Establish a normal baseline with successful joins and a representative concurrent player load.
  • Test the required game stages and protocols from appropriate external locations, without assuming a ping is sufficient.
  • Record errors, application behavior and the agreed restoration steps while keeping unaffected services observable.

Questions for this deployment

Are games other than FiveM and Minecraft Java covered by these proxy offers?

Do not assume that. Submit the actual game and protocol for review. A generic UDP allowance does not establish a supported game-specific proxy.

Will a protection change fix every connection or resource-loading error?

No. Origin reachability, server load, resources and configuration can also cause failures. The review should identify the affected stage before recommending a delivery change.
